Greenville has terrific parent involvement.
It is vital that parents and teachers communicate regularly.
I will send home a communication folder daily. Feel free to write me a note if you have a question or concern. I read the folders daily. You can also contact me through email, (I check it daily) or a phone call at school (I check my voicemail daily). I am here to help you, as well as your child.
If you have a special interest or talent that you would like to share with the class please let me know.
You can help by volunteering for the classroom. Send me a note in the communication folder if you are interested in being a parent volunteer. Tell me the days and time that you prefer. I will send home a sheet to tell you your assigned date and time to volunteer. I have a classroom assistant that helps me with teaching lessons. So what I need the parent volunteers to do is prep work. For example, making copies of papers, making books (copying them, stapling them together), laminating things, cutting things out. The parent volunteers spend their time in the workroom, not in the classroom. However if you would like to eat lunch with your child on the day that you volunteer, that would be great. I usually ask someone to volunteer about 2 hour a day, twice a month. Many on the activities and games would not be possible without the help from parent volunteers. If you are unable to come into the school to volunteer and would like to do some volunteer work from your house, I have many things that I could send home with your child that you could make, cut, etc.
The PTO, is a great way for you to become involved in the school. Teachers are very appreciative of all the hard work that the PTO does each year. The PTO is truly Awesome! Please consider attending a monthly meeting. It is a great way to help the school, teachers, children and staff plus you are very current with what is happening in the school.
Greenville has many special events that parents are encouraged to attend. Just to name a few; Walk-A–Thon, special person’s lunch, Thanksgiving lunch, book fair, field day, etc. I will let you know when these things are happening.
You are your child’s first and most important teacher!
I want your child to be successful. By us working together we can set goals and monitor your child’s progress. Every child has things that he/she will need to work on. If I write a note telling you that your child is working on something please help me by having your child work on it at home as well. If you ever have any question regarding your child’s success at school let me know.
